MediaTek Dimensity 6020 vs Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 vs Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2
MediaTek Dimensity 6020
► remove from comparisonThe Mediatek Dimensity 6020 is a lower mid-range SoC with an integrated 5G modem. It includes two fast ARM Cortex-A76 cores at up to 2.2 GHz and six power efficient Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2 GHz (Octa-Core with Heterogeneous Multi-Processing). The specifications are similar to the old Dimensity 700 SoC.
Furthermore, the chip integrates a 2 core ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, a Wi-fi 5 modem, a LPDDR4x-2133 memory controller, a AI processing unit (APU 3.0) and video de- and encoding.
The Dimensity 6020 is manufactured in the older 7nm process like the Dimensity 700.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1
► remove from comparisonThe Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 (SM4375) is a mid-range ARM-based SoC largely found on Android tablets and smartphones. It features 8 Kryo cores, which are 64-bit capable and divided into two clusters. A fast cluster of two cores with up to 2 GHz based on the ARM Cortex-A78 design. And a power saving efficiency cluster with up to 1.8 GHz based on much smaller ARM Cortex-A55 cores. Both clusters can also be used together. The SD 4 Gen1 is similar to the older Snapdragon 695 but with lower clock rates.
In addition to the 8 CPU cores, the SoC integrates a lower mid range Adreno 619 GPU, a X51 5G radio (up to 2.5 Gbits download, no mmWave), a 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5, 8x8 sounding, Dual Band, 2x2), a Bluetooth 5.2 radio, satellite positioning (GPS, QZSS, GLONASS, SBAS, Beidou and Galileo) and a video engine (support for H.265, H.264, VP8 and VP9).
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 is manufactured in the current 6nm process (high end SoCs use 4nm) at TSMC (6N).
Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2
► remove from comparisonThe Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 (SM4450) is an entry-level eight-core SoC that is the successor to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1. It integrates a total of 8 cores divided into two clusters.
The SoC continues to rely on the same core constellation as its predecessor, but with higher clock rates. In addition to two fast Cortex-A78 cores that clock at up to 2.2 GHz, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 has six energy-saving Cortex-A55 cores that operate at a maximum of 2 GHz.
The performance is on par with the similar but older Snapdragon 695 5G, the Mediatek MT8188J and the Mediatek Dimensity 7020. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 of the next faster tier, is about 29% faster in our benchmarks (Vivo V40 Se vs Honor Pad 9).
The Adreno 613 graphics card is different to the predecessor and as the name implies - and our benchmarks show, it is slower then the Adreno 619 in the SD4 Gen 1. It supports important graphics APIs such as OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0 and Vulkan 1.1. It is also capable of hardware-accelerated decoding of H.265 and VP9 data.
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 can rely on the Qualcomm X61 5G modem, which supports maximum download rates of up to 2.5 GBit/s (upload: max. 900 MBit/s). Only Wi-Fi 5 is supported for WLANs and Bluetooth 5.1 is also no longer up to date. The dual ISP works with up to 12 bit and operates with a maximum resolution of 108 MPix. Quick Charge 4 is integrated as fast charging technology.
The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is manufactured with a structure width of 4 nm at Samsung (compared to the 6nm TSMC Process of the SD 4 Gen 1).
