While still distributing the Android 11 update to the Mi 10 series, it seems Xiaomi has already set its sights towards the popular, mid-range Snapdragon 720G-powered branch of the Redmi Note 9 family. Yes, it appears that the Redmi Note 9 Pro is now receiving Android 11. In India, at least.

It's barely been a month since Xiaomi managed to send out the MIUI 12 update to all major variants of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The company doesn't appear to be resting on its laurels, though, as new information indicates that the Redmi Note 9 Pro is already receiving the Android 11 update.

According to a report by AdimorahBlog, the Redmi Note 9 Pro in India is now receiving the Android 11 update. The update bears the designation "MIUI 12.0.1.0 RJWINXM", with "R" denoting Android 11, and the other characters confirming that it is, indeed, for the Indian model of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The update weighs a hefty 2.3 GB.

This update is likely an early build that's only being seeded to a select few owners of the Redmi Note 9 Pro in India. Do not be distraught if you're yet to receive the OTA. We expect it to reach full beta status in a few weeks, with updates for the global model and Redmi Note 9S to follow after.
