Qualcomm Adreno 512 vs Qualcomm Adreno 405 vs Qualcomm Adreno 505
Qualcomm Adreno 512
► remove from comparisonThe Qualcomm Adreno 512 is a mobile graphics card for mid-range smartphones and tablets (mostly Android based). It is included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoCs and based on the Adreno 500 architecture (like the Adreno 520 in the S820, which should be fully compatible in software).
According to Qualcomm up to 30% faster than the previous generation (Adreno 510?).
The GPU supports modern standards like Vulkan 1.0 (according to Wikipedia), OpenGL ES 3.1 + AE (3.2 in other sources), OpenCL 2.0 and DirectX 12 (FL 12.1 according to Wikipedia, 11.1 according to Qualcomm). Furthermore, the GPU supports Universal Bandwidth Compression (UBWC) to save memory bandwidth.
Qualcomm Adreno 405
► remove from comparisonThe Qualcomm Adreno 405 is an integrated graphics card for (mostly Android based) smartphones and tablets. It was announced in 2014 and is used in SoCs like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 415, 425, 610 or 615. Depending on the used SoC and device, the clock rate of the Adreno 405 is around 550 MHz.
The Adreno 405 features 48 ALUs (unified shaders) and supports OpenGL ES 3.1 and DirectX 11.2 (Feature Level 11_1).
The performance of the Adreno 405 reaches only 40 % of the high end Adreno 420 (in the Snapdragon 805). This means its on a level with the older Adreno 320 and the PowerVR G6200.
Qualcomm Adreno 505
► remove from comparisonThe Qualcomm Adreno 505 is a mobile graphics card for mid-range smartphones and tablets (mostly Android based). It is included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 / 435 SoCs and based on the Adreno 500 architecture (like the Adreno 520 in the S820, which should be fully compatible in software).
Compared to the faster Adreno 506, the 505 is manufactured in the older 28nm process and offers less raw performance.
