Toshiba brings in the high-end 17 inch monsters with Core i7 and Nvidia Geforce GTX 560M goodness

We have already heard the rumor, and now things got official. Toshiba introduced the Qosmio X770 and Qosmio X770 3D during the ongoing Computex 2011 in Taipei. Both the laptops are aimed at gaming enthusiasts with a high level of adrenalin.

Displays

Both the systems sport a glossy 17.3inch display panel each. While the X770 has an HD+panel with a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels, the X770 3D has a full-HD display panel with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution. The later comes with an active shutter 3D technology to make your 3D viewing experience better. The viewer still has to wear polarized glasses, but in this system the glasses have LCD active shutters that are synchronized with signals from the monitor. The shutters rapidly block the right and left eye views alternately so each eye receives the correct image.

Guts

Both the systems come with a choice of Intel Core i7 quad-core or i5 dual-core depending on your pocket. Accompanying them will be the Nvidia Geforce GTX 560M graphics card with Optimus technology that allows you to automatically switch between integrated and dedicated graphics features depending on how demanding your current task is. It has a massive 1.5GB of GDDR5 memory.

Both the systems will have 8GB of DDR3 RAM and two hard drives – one is a 500GB Solid state hybrid drive, and there is an additional 500GB HDD.

Connectivity

The I/O ports include 3 USB 2.0 ports, 1 USB 3.0 port, HDMI–out, Gigabit- LAN and SD card reader. Wireless connectivity will be taken care of by the 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 + HS.

Additional features:

·         Harman Kardon stereo speakers with Doby advanced audio technology

·         Windows 7 Home premium 64-Bit

·         Blu-Ray drive

·         3D webcam (X770 3D only)

Pricing and availability

Both these laptops will be out in the market by sometime in the second quarter. Pricings are not known yet.
