Intel Celeron 887 vs Intel Celeron B815 vs Intel Celeron 797

Intel Celeron 887

► remove from comparison

The Intel Celeron 887 is an Ultra Low Voltage (ULV) dual core processor for entry-level laptops. It is based on the Sandy Bridge architecture but many of the features like Turbo Boost, AES, VT-d or HyperThreading are deactivated. The Celeron 887 integrates a graphics card called Intel HD Graphics that is based on the HD Graphics 2000 and clocked at 350 to 1000 MHz.

The performance of the Celeron 887 is similar to an identical clocked Pentium CPU like the Pentium 987.

The 17W TDP rating includes the integrated GPU and memory controller and therefore the 877 is suited for small subnotebooks.

Intel Celeron B815

► remove from comparison

The Intel Celeron B815 is a dual core processor for entry level laptops. It is based on the Sandy Bridge architecture (2nd generation Core) and features an integrated graphics card called Intel HD Graphics (based on the HD Graphics 2000) at 650-1050MHz and a reduced feature set (compared to the faster Core processors). E.g. Turbo Boost, AES, Hyperthreading, Virtualization VT-d, Quick Sync, Wireless Display and Clear Video HD are deactivated. Furthermore, some power saving features may be deactivated, leading to a shorter battery runtime compared to Core i3 processors.

Compared to the similar Celeron B810, the B815 offers a faster clocked graphics card.

Due to the slow clock speed, the performance is rather limited. Compared to the previous generation, the B810 should be similar fast as a 1.7-2 GHz Arrandale Celeron (e.g. Celeron P4500).

The integrated dual channel DDR3-1066/1333 memory controller supports up to 16GB.

Intel Celeron 797

► remove from comparison

The Intel Celeron 797 is a single-core ULV processor for entry level laptops. It is based on the Sandy Bridge architecture (2nd generation Core) and features an integrated graphics card (most likely Intel HD Graphics based on the HD Graphics 2000 at 350-950MHz) and a reduced feature set (compared to the faster Core processors). E.g. Turbo Boost, AES, Hyperthreading, Virtualization VT-d, Quick Sync, Wireless Display and Clear Video HD are deactivated.

Due to the slow clock speed, the performance is rather limited. Compared to older processors, the 797 should be similar fast as a Celeron M 540 clocked at 1.86 GHz.
