Clevo releases $3,000 P270WM gaming notebook

Teaser
Gaming monster features 6-core i7 processor, SLI NVIDIA graphics and exorbitantly high price tag

If you like your gaming notebooks large and expensive, then Clevo’s latest will most likely appeal to your tastes. While some companies are looking to go lighter and cheaper, Clevo is releasing their biggest and baddest yet with the new P270WM gaming notebook.

Available only through custom PC manufacturer AVADirect, the P270WM comes stock with a six-core Intel Core i7-3930K CPU (3.2GHz), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M 2GB graphics8GB of DDR3 RAM and a 7200RPM 750GB HDD. However, if the base $3,070 price tag is too cheap, then the P270 can be upgraded to a 3.3GHz Core i7-3960X, a pair of GTX 580M’s in SLI and up to 32GB of RAM. Furthermore, the notebook's 17.3” full HD display is 3D capable and AVADirect/Clevo are also offering 4GB NVIDIA Quadro 5010M graphics for the paltry addition of $1,610.

While the P270WM would probably fit within the category of “overkill”, AVADirect argues that the “fastest desktop replacement in the world….is ideal for users who don’t want to sacrifice performance for portability”. Unfortunately, the claims of portability are still in contention as there is no info available about battery life and weight, but we won’t be holding our breath for anything spectacular.

The P270WM is currently available for pre-order and configuration from AVADirect.
