ZTE special event coming on September 16

ZTE Hot Thing teaser for September 16 launch event

The Chinese company will launch a "Hot thing" in the US that is expected to be a very attractive phablet for budget conscious users.

Although the first two weeks of the coming month will be the hottest of this fall for the tech industry, it looks like the second half of September also holds a few surprises. ZTE is a major name in the industry, especially in Asia, but still has to make a name for themselves in the US. Their September 16 event could reveal something still able to make waves even after the iPhone 6, Galaxy Note 4, and all the other devices that will be unveiled in the first part of the month.

The company's announcement published on Vine reads the following: "Get ready to see the next hot thing on 9/16. It arrives with a surprise performance by this summer's hottest breakout artist." Unfortunately, it is not known who is this artist and there is no hint on the device itself, either. According to Android Authority, this could be "a killer budget phablet" but they did not manage to find out anything else about it.

Back home in China, ZTE is one of the first five smartphone makers, but they are also in top ten worldwide. The list of US carriers currently selling ZTE handsets includes big names such as AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Virgin Mobile. If ZTE does not reveal anything else about the devices headed for the September 16 event, maybe one of their US partners will say something. If that ever happens we will be glad to report it, so stay tuned.
