Xiaomi set to debut the Haylou T16 TWS earbuds offering active noise cancellation on a budget
Xiaomi recently slashed the price of its Xiaomi Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 but the company isn't set to stop there, as it's already about to launch brand new TWS earbuds that will, hopefully, give the new OnePlus Buds some more competition.
The new earbuds will be branded as the Haylou T16 TWS earphones. For those not in the know, Haylou is a Xiaomi subsidiary, and some of its products go on to be rebadged with Xiaomi crests in certain markets. Haylou has a penchant for delivering excellent performance for the price; we were big fans of the Haylou GT1 Plus, for example.
Moving on, the Haylou T16 is said to sport front and rear dual mic for active noise cancellation—with a noise reduction depth of 35dB. It's impressive that the Haylou T16 will even offer active noise cancellation, as that's a premium feature. How well it will be implemented, is an entirely different kettle of fish, however.
The Haylou T16 will offer 6 hours of playback on a single charge, which is better than the Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 (2 hours) but worse than the OnePlus Buds (7 hours). A 600 mAh charging case boosts that number up to a whopping 30 hours. Other features include Bluetooth 5.0, a USB-C port, and wireless charging.
The Haylou T16 is already up for crowdfunding on Xiaomi's Youpin platform, with a 279 Yuan price tag. That's US$40, and makes the Haylou T16 an incredibly attractive proposition.
