The Chinese manufacturer expects another record-breaking year as it continues to grow worldwide.

Xiaomi has grown to be one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in China. The company now sits alongside Huawei and Lenovo in sales figures. According to IDC, Apple still had a strong Q1 2015 in Xiaomi's home country despite the growing popularity of the Chinese smartphone brand.

Xiaomi is claiming that it has sold 35 million smartphones during the first half of 2015 compared to just 26 million in the same time frame the year before for an increase of 34.6 percent. For the full 2014 calendar year, Xiaomi sold around 61 million units. If all goes well for the rest of 2015, then he manufacturer could be celebrating another record-breaking year.

In comparison, Gartner has estimated that Samsung sold approximately 307 million smartphones in 2014, followed by Apple and Lenovo at 191 million and 81 million, respectively. Thus, Xiaomi still has quite the road ahead of it. The manufacturer is already ahead of LG, who has sold an estimated 58 million devices in 2014.
