Our test of the Mi 10 Lite reveals a good trend in the smartphone mid-range: The OLED displays used in the mid-range price segment are at a very good level at this point. A while ago (in the 60-Hz era), the AMOLED panel of the Mi 10 Lite could have passed also as a flagship panel.

With the Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite, another mid-range smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer ran through our tests. We are also currently testing the guts of the Mi Note 10 Lite and the final report will be forthcoming. One of the highlights of the mid-range smartphone from Xiaomi is the AMOLED panel used. Due to the technology, the black values and therefore also the contrast values are very good.

Similar to Apple's TrueTone technology, the TrueColor display of Mi 10 Lite is able to adjust the color temperature to the surrounding light. The OLED panel has a 20:9 format and a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of almost 400 ppi, which also ensures the sharp display of the image contents.

In terms of its brightness, the Mi 10 Lite is also convincing. In automatic mode, we measure a maximum of 594 cd/m² with a pure white background. In the more realistic APL50 measurement, which simulates an even distribution of bright and dark areas on the panel, the very good 715 cd/m² of the HDR10+ certified panel are not optimal for the reproduction of HDR10+ content, but the APL10 value might turn out slightly higher than our APL50 measurement.

In addition, the analysis of the photo spectrometer in combination with the CalMAN software reveal very low average Delta-E deviations from the sRGB color space. Other color spaces are also displayed relatively well with the panel in the Mi 10 Lite.

However, there is one area where users will notice the affordable price, since the frame rate is neither 90 Hz nor even 120 Hz, but only 60 Hz. During everyday usage, the system speed is good and the operation is mostly smooth, but animations are still not as smooth as in a panel with a frame rate of 90 Hz or higher.
