CES 2018 | Whirlpool smart appliances now feature Google Assistant and Alexa support
Smart home appliances are quite popular in many markets, and the only way to go for this market sector seems to be up. Whirlpool Corporation has just announced that a select range of products received support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
"By teaming up with Google and Amazon we’re providing families with a unique way to interact with their appliances to get chores done their way and on their time," said Whirlpool's communications brand manager Jennifer Tayebi. The most important advantages of the company's collaborations with Google and Amazon include hands-free help from Google Assistant for the kitchen lineup of smart products and voice-control with Amazon Alexa for the laundry lineup of smart home appliances.
However, there are more Whirlpool smart appliances that received support for voice commands. For example, Alexa-enabled devices through the house can be used to issue commands to various kitchen appliances, such as "Alexa, defrost five pounds of chicken" or "microwave for two minutes on high."
At last, Whirlpool also introduced Amazon Virtual Dash Buttons to the brand's refrigerators that feature touchscreens. Thanks to it, Amazon Prime customers can easily order various products directly from the display of their refrigerator.
Those interested in taking a closer look at the Whirlpool smart appliances with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa support can find them at CES until January 12. They are on display in the Smart Home section at booth #41725, located in the Sands Expo Center.
