Wacom has unveiled the Wacom One 14 (DTC141), a 14-inch external USB-C display with pen input for artists using PCs, Macs, and ChromeOS systems.
Artists can begin drawing right away with the handful of included software trials, such as Clip Studio Paint Pro, or they can turn to third-party freeware drawing software such as Krita, which can simulate natural media, such as oil paints on canvas.
The 1,920 x 1,080 LCD display is anti-glare and anti-fingerprint coated, but is not touch sensitive. The IPS display has a maximum brightness of 285 cd/m2, a 16 ms response time, and a 98% sRGB color gamut. The included pen uses electromagnetic resonance technology for battery-free operation. It senses 4,096 pressure levels at a resolution of 2,540 lpi at up to 60-degree tilt angles, enabling artists to create nuanced brush or pen strokes.
The One 14 is designed for single USB-C cable connection to any Thunderbolt 3 port or higher, or any USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. An adapter is available for connection to computers with an HDMI port and a non-DP USB port.
The Wacom One 14 pen display measures 201 x 336 x 10 mm (7.9 x 13.2 x 0.4 in.) and weighs 0.75 kg (1.65 lbs.). The display is available from Wacom for an MSRP of $299.95 and will be available soon at the Wacom store on Amazon.
Artists who want a portable computer for drawing art might consider a PC tablet with pen input (like this one on Amazon).
