Unofficial Dell Streak 7 ICS ROM leaked

Teaser
Now the Dell streak 7 will also be run on Ice Cream Sandwich although the update is not official and has a lot of bugs

Now Dell Streak 7 tablets might also receive a freshly developed Android 4.0 ROM. Although, this is not released officially, but the TabletROMs forum users Giveen and DJ_Steve have uploaded the latest OS from Google, the Ice Cream Sandwich.

So those consumers, who picked up a Streak 7, before it was retained from their website in December last year, can now have the Ice Cream Sandwich update on their devices.

As this update is not official so you must be aware of some important facts before downloading the ROM and uploading it. This version is not a beta build and there are still bugs to be worked out which may ultimately lead to cause force closes and even some other problems.

Some of the important hardware doesn’t work with this update, which also includes the camera and cellular radios. Video acceleration also does not have much implementation till now, however the gallery applications are not capable of detecting the SD cards.  Another major drawback that has sited is the streak 7 won’t be able to mount the Streak 7 as a USB mass storage device when plugged into your computer.

So with this long list of non-working functions there are also some features which run easily with this device like the Touchscreen input, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, audio and most of the sensors are also working and the core Google application is mostly functional too.

So now knowing both the drawbacks and working features of the new update, it is totally up to you if you really want to use the Ice Cream Sandwich on your tablet or not. One may really go for the requirements that he will need and take the decision accordingly.

Although nothing much is said about the bugged applications, however we may even hope for more updates later.
