The TrimUI Smart Pro S is now official after a series of recent rumours regarding the handheld. While the new model closely resembles its predecessor, the Smart Pro S contain upgrades in several areas like a new chipset, an active cooling solution and a refined joystick experience.

TrimUI has dropped new information about its next gaming handheld. For context, the company has just re-released the Brick Hammer in two new colourways. Now, it is preparing to launch the rumoured Smart Pro S, with Mech DIY having already opened pre-orders.

In short, the Smart Pro S looks like a beefed-up Smart Pro (curr. $89.99 on Amazon). However, TrimUI has made various changes that should deliver up to 2.5x GPU performance over the Smart Pro. TrimUI has swapped the Allwinner A133P for the Allwinner A523, a 22 nm chipset with eight ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores and a Mali-G57 MP1 GPU.

On the other hand, TrimUI has added an active cooling solution for the Smart Pro S to minimise thermal throttling under sustained load. Moreover, the Smart Pro S adopts TMR joysticks for improved accuracy. Full hardware specifications remain unknown for now, though. Nonetheless, the TrimUI Smart Pro S can already be pre-ordered on Mech DIY for $89.99 in a choice of black, grey, green, red and white colour options ahead of a full announcement.
