Neuss, Germany, January 6th 2015 – Toshiba Europe GmbH today announces its latest detachable – the Satellite Click Mini. An affordable 22.6 cm (8.9”) device, compact in size for ultra-mobility, and able to perform dual roles – transforming from a fully functional laptop with Windows 8.1 Update to tablet at the press of a button – reducing the need to carry multiple devices. Perfect for Windows users looking to do more on the go, as an intuitive first device for children, or for students looking for the best of everything, the Satellite Click Mini adapts to suit the needs of a wide range of consumers.

Small device, big entertainment
The 22.6 cm (8.9”) Satellite Click Mini weighs just 470 g², and measures only 9.8 mm thin in tablet mode – or 999 g² and 19.9 mm with the keyboard dock – this compact device is a perfectly portable companion. The beyond Full HD (1920 x 1200) display offers an excellent viewing experience for watching films and viewing photos while the bright IPS display also allows for a wider viewing angle for greater flexibility or if more than one person is viewing the screen.

As well as enjoying a fully immersive viewing experience, users can also surround themselves with clearly defined sound. The Satellite Click Mini features side-firing stereo speakers for clearer audio that’s heightened by Dolby® Digital Plus™. This enhancement suite ensures every note and voice sounds just the way it’s supposed to, for premium quality audio that adds depth and power to soundtracks, music, games and videos.

Made to go further
Whether a travelling, out and about, or being used at home, the Satellite Click Mini offers everything needed for work and play throughout the day. When the keyboard is docked, users can benefit from a battery life of up to 16 hours¹ video playback – enough for the standard working day and more. As a tablet, the Satellite Click Mini can also be used for video playback up to 8 hours¹ on a single charge. An intelligent charging system means the tablet will always charge first and discharge after the keyboard to maximise its use when undocked.

With Windows 8.1 with Bing included, users can benefit from a one year subscription to Microsoft Office 365 Personal enabling access to familiar applications for reading emails or creating new documents. The Microsoft Office 365 Personal subscription can also be extended to one primary PC to provide a consistent Windows experience across devices. In addition, with 1TB of OneDrive online storage³ included, and the option of adding more, users can save as much data as they need, while 60 Skype world minutes per month are included for keeping in touch with friends and family.

Connectivity whenever, wherever
The Satellite Click Mini includes a range of connectivity options regardless of whether being used in tablet or laptop mode. On the tablet, a Micro-HDMI® provides the option of sharing content on a larger display, a microSD/SDHC/SDXC slot aids the sharing of content between devices while a Micro-USB 2.0 port is also featured. The keyboard provides a full-size USB 2.0 port enabling the transfer of files plus a full-size SD slot provides the option of increasing the embedded 32 GB eMMC storage. Wireless display functionality is also included to seamlessly share audio and video to other devices without the need for cables.

Capture the moment
Users won’t miss a thing with the 5 MP auto focus, rear-facing camera to take high quality pictures on the move. With the HD front facing web camera, users can talk face-to-face with friends and colleagues. The Satellite Click Mini also features the TruCapture app so users can easily capture information on any paper document, whiteboard or projected image –simply by taking a snapshot of it - saving time for increased productivity on the go. TruCapture also improves the legibility of information by reducing reflection and correcting colours to make images and text easier to identify and read. In addition, printed words in images taken by TruCapture will be searchable and easily transferable into other applications thanks to the character recognition feature.

The Satellite Click Mini is just as stylish as it is comfortable, available in either a Satin Gold^TM or Smart White Pearl. It’s also highly durable and always ready for life on the move.

The Toshiba Satellite Click Mini will be available in Europe during the first quarter of 2015 in Smart White Pearl and during the second quarter of 2015 in Satin Gold^TM.
