Toshiba releases two new Tecra business notebooks
The Tecra Z40 and the Tecra A50 join Toshiba's family of business laptops offering fully customizable setups to small and medium business clients.

Toshiba's Tecra family of business laptops got two new members this week, namely the Tecra Z40 and the Tecra A50. Already available for purchase online directly from Toshiba, "The laptops provide budget conscious small businesses with all the power, durability and reliability of systems built for enterprise users at a more affordable price."

Advertised as "a True Business Laptop Done Lighter" the Tecra Z40 is built using a lightweight magnesium alloy chassis and measures only 0.8 inches thin with a weight of just 3.2 pounds. Its screen has 14 inches and HD or HD+ resolution, while the list of available options includes Haswell Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 processors, up to 16 GB of memory and 500 GB HDD or 512 GB SSD for storage. 

In addition to the above, the Toshiba Tecra Z40 sports three USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, HDMI and a full size SD card reader, as well as Bluetooth, Gigabit Ethernet and multiple WiFi options, including dual-band 802.11 ac

The Tecra Z40 comes preloaded with Windows 7 Professional but a Windows 8.1 Professional upgrade disc is also included.

The second notebook  launched by Toshiba this week is the Tecra A50, which offers "Big Screen Versatility with a DVD Drive" and is advertised as "a portable powerhouse ideal for small businesses who want a feature-packed laptop that can handle the most demanding workloads in or out of the office."

Just like the Z40, the Tecra A50 includes Haswell Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 processors and up to 16 GB of memory, but it can be configured with up to a 1 TB hybrid hard drive or a 512 GB SSD, also including a built-in DVD drive.

This 15.6-inch HD display business notebook is encased in a durable textured high-resin plastic and offers a rich selection of connectivity options, including an eSATA/USB combo, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth, two USB 3.0 ports and three USB 2.0 ports, as well as WiFi 802.11 agn or 802.11 bgn.

The Toshiba Tecra A50 comes preloaded with Windows 8.1, but Windows 8.1 Professional or Windows 7 Professional with Windows 8.1 Professional upgrade media are also available as options.
