Toshiba UK launches Satellite Pro C and Satellite Pro L Series

Teaser
The company’s latest Satellite Pro models will offer new slimline design, next-gen Intel CPUs, low power consumption and long battery life

Last week, the UK branch of the Japanese tech manufacturer Toshiba announced it is launching a multitude of portable PCs including the glasses-free 3D Qosmio X870, two mainstream Satellite C notebooks and a bunch of devices under the maker’s new Satellite P and L lineups.

According to a recently issued press release (PDF), the outfit is also planning to expand its portfolio of laptops aimed at business professionals with the introduction of the Satellite Pro C and Satellite Pro L Series that will become available in the second quarter of 2012.

Apparently, Toshiba’s new Pro models deliver “reliable, affordable and stylish business computing”, and will ship with a pre-installed 64-bit copy of Microsoft’s Windows 7 Professional (or Home Premium) operating system.

The Satellite Pro L lineup incorporates the 13.3-inch Pro L830, the 15.6-inch Pro L850 and the 17.3-inch Pro L870 notebooks that will presumably be driven by the latest Intel central processing units (possibly Ivy Bridge). The first two portable computers will sport LED-backlit widescreen displays (with Toshiba’s TruBrite technology) that offer a native resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels, whereas the 17-incher packs a panel that supports 1600-by-900 pixels.

Users will also be provided with up to 16GB of internal DDR3 memory, a 750GB mechanical hard disk drive, optional AMD graphics and a Blu-ray Burner.

In terms of connectivity, the Pro L models are supposedly equipped with two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port with Sleep-and-Charge, an HDMI interface, RGB, a 2-in-1 memory card reader slot, Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 radios. Moreover, for video conferencing, there is an integrated front-facing HD web camera.

Toshiba’s Satellite Pro C Series has only one representative, dubbed Pro C850. This device is apparently the “perfect option for home workers looking for a combination of performance, reliability and leading value. Furthermore, it has an ergonomically-designed full size keyboard with a numeric pad and a multi-gesture touchpad, and will be available in a textured matte black finish.

The laptop packs a 15.6-inch LCD with a maximum supported resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels, a DVD Burner and an SRS Premium HD Sound. The rest of the specs are pretty much identical to the Satellite Pro L models.
