Toshiba's Satellite is a well built business notebook with some smart extra features such as hard disk protection and one-touch presentation mode. The machine is well specified, has a reasonable battery life, and the display does a very good line in anti-glare technology (although the vertical viewing angle isn't too hot). For the price, the R850 represents pretty good value.

Toshiba's Satellite Pro R850 is a sturdy desktop replacement machine for doing work on a grander scale. Priced at £790, it's powered by a meaty Intel Core i5 processor, so should have no problem handling everyday office tasks. The Toshiba Satellite Pro R850 offers good performance in a well-built chassis. But it's not the most inspiring machine to look at and the keyboard isn't as good as we would have liked.

15.6": 15 inch display-variants are the standard and are used for more than the half of all notebooks. 15.4 inch display with 16:10 are the standard for notebook displays. However nowadays, more and more 16:9 displays with 15.6 inch appear. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
2.5 kg: This notebook is lighter than the average of all notebooks. It is too heavy for sub-notebooks. 14 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.
