A well-built multimedia and gaming laptop with good specifications, comfortable ergonomics and impressive speakers, Toshiba's Satellite P750-115 is really let down by its poor screen. Because of this there are better options available at its price point, though for those mainly using external displays it's still well worth considering.

All up, the Satellite P750 is a very good laptop for users who want to do a bit of everything: it'll run games, allow you to watch and record TV, it's useful for photo and video editing and it won't have any problems running typical office software. We just wish it had a better screen, that is wasn't as glossy, and that it came with more understated lighting.

There's no denying that the Toshiba Satellite P755-S5274 is a solid performer considering its parts, but when you consider the price for what it offers, it just doesn't add up. For $84 less I can get WiMAX 4G broadband, WiDi 2.0, a 7-hour battery life, and a good-looking aluminum chassis on top of a same-performing Core i5 processor in the Asus U56E-BBL5. Why would you pay more for less?

After spending some time with the Satellite P755-3DV20 I was left with mixed feelings about this notebook. On one hand, Toshiba delivers a complete 3D entertainment experience for a modest price ($890 "street price" as of this writing). On the other hand, Toshiba was able to make this 3D notebook affordable by using the same chassis used in cheaper budget laptops and that's not ideal for a more expensive multimedia PC. The 3D performance is also something of a mixed bag. The Nvidia GeForce GT 540M graphics provide barely enough performance for older 3D games which means this notebook is really only intended for watching 3D movies on the road or when connected to your 3D HDTV.

If you've had even a sparkle of interest in true-3D laptops, but have been turned off by the field so far, now might be a good time to revisit it. Equipped with Nvidia’s 3D Vision graphics technology, this Satellite model delivers realistic 3D movies and games in a stylish 15-inch chassis. Its battery life and port selection are mediocre, however.

The Toshiba Satellite P755-3DV20 is an impressive all-purpose laptop, if you can get past the less-than-impressive design. The plastic exterior is nice for a cheaper, less specced-out machine, but it doesn't really convey "3D multimedia powerhouse." Still, if you're looking for a nice multimedia and casual-gaming laptop, the P755-3DV20 performs solidly.

The Toshiba Satellite P755-3DV20 is an affordable 3D-enabled laptop that is loaded with multimedia features that makes it stand out from the rest. You get a Blu-ray player, good Nvidia graphics, 3D-capabilities, USB 3.0 and Harman Kardon audio. While all this is great, it does lack in battery life and viewing angles.

Why is 3D in laptops still a novelty? Chalk it up to the extra cost of 3D technology, the awkwardness of wearing special glasses, and the lack of killer apps for the average user. The 3D-enabled Toshiba Satellite P755-3DV20 is one of the more affordable 3D-enabled laptops, but it lacks the horsepower we've seen in more robust 3D gaming laptops.

There’s a lot to like about the Toshiba Satellite P755, it’s not the flashiest or most stylish notebook out there, but it gets the job done. Well-designed utilitarian features such as the backlit keyboard and lighted track pad make working in low light easier. The striated lines design is certainly unique, and keeps the notebook looking new for longer as it hides those unsightly fingerprints, smudges and scratches really well.

The Toshiba Satellite P750-137 is a good all-rounder, handling all types of multimedia content well, though it might not have the kind of performance that dedicated gamers are looking for. It'd fit in well in the living room, though, especially if you have a 3D TV to hook up to. It'd fit in well in the study, as its powerful spec makes it a capable desktop replacement for even demanding users.

That competition is good for consumers is accepted wisdom, and rightfully so. Even though Intel provides the majority of CPUs in today's laptops, it's good to see systems powered by rival AMD, such as this midpriced 15-inch Toshiba Satellite. This midpriced 15-inch Toshiba Satellite has a few nice higher-end features, but its AMD processor makes it feel like a budget performer.

The Toshiba Satellite P755D is a solid performing multimedia laptop that features a great-looking 15.6-inch widescreen HD display. It has an AMD Fusion A8 CPU, 6GB of RAM and a 640GB hard drive that gives plenty of room for media storage. It also has a Blu-ray disc player, which further lends itself to multimedia use.

The Toshiba Satellite P755D is a decent all-purpose laptop, not too thick and, though plastic, pretty solid. Performance in our tests was quite modest, though it has some nice multimedia features. Faster performance, accessible documentation, less-annoying backup and virus utilities, and a plain touchpad without the quirky multitouch would generate more enthusiasm and higher scores, but this model is fine as a middle-of-the-road laptop with a modest price.

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M:
Mid-range graphics card based on the GT 435M chip (GF108) with higher clock rates and DDR3 support.
AMD Radeon HD 6620G: Integrated processor graphics card (in the A-Series of Llano APUs) without dedicated graphics memory.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
Intel HD Graphics (Sandy Bridge): Processor graphics card which is integrated in the Sandy Bridge Pentium and Celeron processors. Similar to the desktop HD Graphics 2000 and not related to the old Arrandale processor graphics with the same name.

Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
2630QM: Fast Quad-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.
2670QM: Fast Quad-core processor clocked at 2.2-3.1 GHz based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller.
Intel Core i5:
2410M:
Dual-core processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture with an integrated graphics card and dual-channel DDR3 memory controller. The CPU is clocked at 2.3 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.6-2.9 GHz) and the GPU at 650 (1200 MHz Turbo).
AMD A-Series:
A8-3520M:
Llano quad-core APU clocked at 1.6-2.5 GHz (Turbo Core) featuring an integrated Radeon 6620G (400 cores, 400MHz) graphics card.

2.6 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
3 kg:
69.23%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
