The problem is that it skimps on performance plus size in favor of more memory plus storage. With a this much price, users can spend just a little bit more to get more in terms of performance for general applications, multimedia or graphics.

The 18.4" Toshiba Satellite P505 is a massive desktop replacement notebook, capable of gaming, watching HD video, and pumping out rich audio. The harman/kardon speaker system put out some of the best sound we have heard from a notebook in a long time, full of bass and great midrange tones. While most people might not think a machine of this size could have good battery life, we managed to get four and a half hours thanks to the 12-cell battery. The only real negative aspects we noticed were debris between the all-glass covering and display, and a lackluster touchpad. Overall while this notebook might not have been the most lap-friendly system we have tested, its gaming and multimedia performance was excellent for its price range.

Toshiba's Satellite P505-S8945 offers a large performance system at a reduced cost compared to its more expensive and gaming oriented Qosmio X305. The problem is that it skimps on performance and size in favor of more memory and storage. With a $1200 price tag, users can spend just a little bit more to get more in terms of performance for general applications, multimedia or graphics.

The Toshiba Satellite P505-S8980 is best suited for those conflicted souls who cannot decide whether to purchase a desktop or a laptop. Though technically a laptop, the Satellite P505, with its 18.4-inch wide-screen display and nearly 9-pound weight, will most likely be found sitting atop a desk rather than your lap. The Toshiba Satellite P505-S8980 boasts a huge display and a good feature set for the price, including a Blu-ray player, but we wish the build quality was a bit better.

The Toshiba Satellite P505-S8010 ($950 street) joins an exclusive group of laptops that have colossal 18.4-inch widescreens—the largest ones on the market. It's also referred to as a media center, which is basically a gigantic laptop that caters to home theater enthusiasts and videophiles. While the processor and graphics duo put on a good performance show, this Satellite configuration failed to deliver a full HD and user experience worthy of the "media center" name.

Toshiba’s first 18-inch notebook with Intel’s Core i3 CPU features solid performance, an attractive design, and rich sound at a wallet-friendly price. It’s not a gaming powerhouse by any stretch, but those looking for a rock solid multimedia machine with punchy speakers for an affordable price will enjoy the $949 Toshiba Satellite P505-S8010. In short, shoppers desirous of a big-screen notebook that won’t break the break will find a lot to like.

Toshiba: Toshiba Corporation is a Japanese conglomerate or technology group. The company was established in 1939 and in 1978 Toshiba became the official company name. The company's products and services include power, industrial and social infrastructure systems, elevators and escalators, electronic components, semiconductors, hard drives, printers, batteries, lighting, logistics and information technology. Toshiba was one of the largest manufacturers of personal computers, consumer electronics, home appliances and medical equipment.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650: The Mobility HD 4650 is based on the Desktop 4650 architecture, but features a lower clock rate of memory and core. Depending on the core clock (450-550MHz possible) and the used memory (DDR2, DDR3, GDDR3 with 600-800 MHz possible) the mobile 4650 can show a different performance. The current consumption of the chip alone ranges from 15-25W. Features Avivo HD video features.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD: Onboard (shared Memory) GPU built in the GM45, GE45 and GS45 chipset (Montevina). Because of two more shaders and a higher core clock, much faster than the old GMA X3100. Still not advisable for gamers (DirectX 10 games not playable or only with very low settings). The integrated video processor is able to help decode HD videos (AVC/VC-2/MPEG2) , e.g., for a fluent Blu-Ray playback with slow CPUs.
NVIDIA GeForce 310M: The GeForce 310M is the successor of the GeFore G210M and based on the same chip with very similar clock rates (shader speed +30MHz to 1530MHz).

Intel Core 2 Duo: This is the Core Duo and Core Solo successor with a longer pipeline and 5-20% more speed without more power consumption. As an addition to the Core Duo design there exists a fourth decoder, an amplified SSE-unit and an additional arithmetical logical unit (ALU).
The Core 2 Duo for laptops is identical to the desktop Core 2 Duo processors but the notebook-processors work with lower voltages (0.95 to 1188 Volt) and a lower Frontside bus clock (1066 vs 667 MHz). The performance of equally clocked notebooks is 20-25% lower than Desktop PCs because of the lower Frontside bus clock and the slower hard disks.
P7350:
Entry level Core 2 Duo processor with 3 MB Level 2 Cache and due to the 25 Watt TDP also suited for 13" laptops.
T6600: Entry level Core 2 Duo dual core processor with a small 2MB level 2 cache and without virtualization functions.
Intel Core i3:
330M:
The Core i3-330M is a slower clocked 350M and therefore also lacks the Turbo Boost feature and clocks with max. 2.13 GHz. Thanks to Hyperthreading, 4 threads can be processed simultaneously. An integrated graphics card (GMA HD 3150) and a DDR3 memory controller are also included in the package.

4 kg:
A laptop with this weight is comparatively heavy and less designed for mobility than for use at the desk. Therefore, the devices tend to shine less with battery life than with a large screen and higher performance.
4.5 kg:
A laptop in this weight range is a heavyweight that you rarely carry around. This is meant for desktops and the devices tend to score with a large display and high performance and replace desktop devices.
61.75%: Such a poor rating is rare. There are only a few notebooks that were rated even worse. The rating websites do not give a purchase recommendation here.
