Reviews for the Toshiba Qosmio G30-102
Source: Trusted Reviews

Just over a year ago I took a look at the Qosmio G20 102 - Toshiba's top of the range all-in-one-multimedia notebook. Now the G30 has arrived and it's in many ways a better machine – it’s good to see progress as work. It's £100 more expensive than last year's effort but if you're willing to spend the best part of two grand on a notebook then it's hardly worth fussing over, especially as you're getting a lot more for your money than last time. If you do feel the need to spend more, then there's the G30-201 - a variant with a faster CPU and twice the hard disk capacity, available for £2,100.

NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600: The NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600 is a middle class video card of the 7000 series and suited for games of the year 2006. The performance is very similar to ATI X1600 / X1700. Compared to the desktop 7600 it is clearly slower.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Intel Core 2 Duo: This is the Core Duo and Core Solo successor with a longer pipeline and 5-20% more speed without more power consumption. As an addition to the Core Duo design there exists a fourth decoder, an amplified SSE-unit and an additional arithmetical logical unit (ALU).
The Core 2 Duo for laptops is identical to the desktop Core 2 Duo processors but the notebook-processors work with lower voltages (0.95 to 1188 Volt) and a lower Frontside bus clock (1066 vs 667 MHz). The performance of equally clocked notebooks is 20-25% lower than Desktop PCs because of the lower Frontside bus clock and the slower hard disks.
T7200: Mid-range (at the time of annoucement) dual core processor based on the Merom core. » Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
17.1": Meanwhile the 17 inch display size is a more frequently offered standard format for desktop-replacements. The DTR-laptops can't be carried easily, need much energy but on the other side texts can be read easily and high resolutions are no problem. DTR mainly are intended for stationary usage on desks, where the weight and the energy need are unimportant.

5.2 kg: This laptop is heavy. Especially desktop replacements with 19 inch display fit in this class of weight. This class is too heavy, even for 17 inch DTR.
Toshiba: Toshiba Corporation is a multinational conglomerate manufacturing company, headquartered in Japan. The company's main business is in Infrastructure, Consumer Products, and Electronic devices and components. Toshiba-made Semiconductors are among the Worldwide Top 20 Semiconductor Sales Leaders. Toshiba is one of the biggest international notebook-manufacturer. There exist many reviews for Toshiba models.
90%: There do not exist many models, which are rated better. The most ratings get ratings, which are a bit worse.
