Toshiba Excite tablet is coming in January

Teaser
The newest of the Toshiba Tablets- the thrive will now be available for buyers in January 2012 equipped with a few more feature and specifications.

Toshiba’s latest Tablet Excite will not be able to reach customers by December end, but will be available for reach by January 2012.

Although the price of the Excite tablet has not yet been declared yet, more information except the specs of Excite tablet is nowhere to be found on the Toshiba Canada Website. Moreover, the Excite tablet is not confirmed to be launching only in Canada or elsewhere.

Toshiba, on the other hand has made sure to follow up with the demands of the people and made many improvements in the upcoming tablets. The screen size, for example has been increased to 10.1 inches unlike the 7 inch and 10 inch display of the Thrive tablets. Followed by the Excite being “the thinnest and the lightest tablet in the market” which is a result of the Thrive tablets being criticized as too heavy and bulky.

The Excite has a 1280 x 800 LCD display with LED backlighting powered by a Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 processor of 1.2 Ghz running Andriod 3.2 (commonly referred to as Honeycomb).

Also, a 5 mega-pixel camera at the back and a 2 Mega-Pixel camera in the front have been added to the tablet. As the main attraction of the tablet, the Excite has surround sound speakers and a battery life up to 10 hours, as reviewed by techieask.com. The main connections in the Excite include a Micro SD slot, a mini USB 2.0 Port accompanied by a micro HDMI port. The tablet is well compatible with the latest versions of the Adobe Flash, Twitter, Facebook, Google Android market, Google Maps, Gmail which is a result of extensive networking like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth v2.1.

According to the Toshiba Canada website, the Excite tablet will be launched in two different versions – the 16GB and the 32GB which differentiate only on the storage basis.

To your surprise, the Toshiba U.S. website has no mention of any such Tablet even being launched and has been flooded with the promotions of the Thrive tablet released earlier.
