ThinkPad Edge E220 notebook now available

Teaser
12.5” Lenovo ThinkPad notebook now for sale starting at $749

It’s only been around 24 hours since Lenovo began shipping their X220 ThinkPad notebooks, and now their Edge E220 counterparts have also been made available. The 12.5” E series of notebooks are less luxurious than the X series but also feature a lower price tag as a result.

With regards to technical specs, the ThinkPad E220 base units will be powered by an Intel Core i5-2537M processor and will feature a total weight of only 3.25lbs (1.47kg). The base configuration will also come with a 250GB HDD, Intel HD 3000 Graphics, and 2GB of RAM. Those interested in an upgrade can also outfit the E220 with a Core i7-2617M processor, a 128GB SSD, and 4GB of RAM. Unfortunately, there is no option for a higher resolution display, so users will have to make do with the standard 1366x768 pixel resolution on the 12.5” screen.

As far as pricing for the laptop goes, the base model will start at a price of $749 while the processor, RAM and storage upgrades will knock that up to around $1,170. For those interested, the Lenovo laptop can be found here.
