OPPO has announced that it will unveil the K5 in China on October 10, 2019. This phone is slated to have a quad rear camera, the main shooter of which will be 64MP in resolution. It is listed on some retail platforms already, which reveal it has 6GB of RAM and 128GB in fixed storage.

Considering that OnePlus has dominated the mobile-device stage today (September 26, 2019) with the launch of its 7T, it is quite an odd time OPPO has chosen to introduce its first 64MP camera phone. Nevertheless, this is what the OEM has done: the new K5 will be released on October 10. Its advanced imaging specs are joined by a decent 6.4-inch Super AMOLED FHD display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a waterdrop notch.

This notch houses a 32MP camera, whereas the rear configuration will be 64MP+8MP+2MP+2MP in total. The K5 is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 730G processor. These are specs that may sound familiar to those who also follow the new Realme 64MP phone, a variant of which may have virtually the same attributes.

The K5 already features on the online sales sites Jingdong and Tmall, both of which have placeholder pages for the new phone. They indicate that this upcoming OPPO mid-ranger has only 1 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant; however, it is believed that there may be others in the future. Neither sales listing has credible price information, although it's possible it could go for about US$280 on launch.
