iQOO has confirmed that it will launch a smartphone called the Z5 later in September 2021. The brand has also indirectly revealed that it will be a premium mid-ranger, thanks to its SoC, RAM and storage specs. A new leak also suggests it will have an FHD+ display.
iQOO instituted the Z series of smartphones as upper-mid-tier smartphones, perhaps the next step down from its flagship line. If so, the new 8 and 8 Pro will have a new counterpart called the Z5. The brand has confirmed that the upcoming device exists in the course of announcing its launch.
The Vivo subsidiary has confirmed that the successor to the Z3 will have a processor that is also the next generation of that phone's processor. iQOO has also officially unveiled the Snapdragon 778G as the Z5's SoC. It will be paired to top-end LPDDR5 RAM, as well as internal storage with UFS 3.1 speeds.
iQOO is keeping any further specs under wraps for now. However, the appearance of a new device called the Vivo V2148A with the 778G on the Google Play Console has led to speculation that it is the Z5 (or possibly the Z5 Pro). If so, it might offer 8GB of its potentially fast RAM on its September 23, 2021 premiere.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
