The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8T receive new MIUI 12 updates
Xiaomi is continuing with its quest to bring MIUI 12 to more Redmi Note 8 series devices. Now, the company has issued its latest OS for the Indian version of the Redmi Note 8 and the Russian edition of the Redmi Note 8T. Xiaomi has already the global versions of both devices, along with the European variant of the Redmi Note 8T.
According to Adimorah Blog and Xiaomi Firmware Updater, Xiaomi has assigned the build number V12.0.1.0.QCOINXM for the Redmi Note 8 in India. A Mi Community announcement claims that V12.0.1.0.QCOINXM is currently a Beta Stable update, so it should be arriving for more handsets in the coming days. As it stands, Xiaomi is pushing the update to a random volume of users while it determines if there are any last-minute bugs.
The same applies to V12.0.2.0.QCXRUXM, which has gone live for the Russian version of the Redmi Note 8T. Adimorah Blog adds that this update also optimises the Control Center layout in landscape mode and updates the Android security patch to October 2020. Additionally, V12.0.2.0.QCXRUXM addresses an issue on some devices where a noise could be heard when the display was turned off. Like V12.0.1.0.QCOINXM, V12.0.2.0.QCXRUXM should start rolling out to more devices in the coming days and weeks.
