Xiaomi has introduced the January 2022 security patch update to the Mi A3, the final Android One smartphone on its books. V12.0.18.0.RFQMIXM is rolling out now as an OTA and is available as fastboot or recovery ROMs.

Xiaomi has rolled out a new update to the Mi A3, its last Android One smartphone. Last month, the company issued a rather large update to the handset, a 458 MB download on which we reported in December. This month's update is much smaller though, and has a 12.29 MB file size. As always, fastboot and recovery ROMs are much larger downloads, which Xiaomi Firmware Updater has located on Xiaomi's servers.

Xiaomi has called this month's update 'V12.0.18.0.RFQMIXM', denoting that it is another MIUI 12-based build, despite the Mi A3 being part of the Android One program. Additionally, Xiaomi continues to keep the Mi A3 on Android 11. For context, the Mi A3 launched with Android 9.0 Pie and is one of many devices Xiaomi decided would only receive two major Android updates.

For one reason or another, V12.0.18.0.RFQMIXM only contains the January 2022 security patch update. You can see what security fixes the January 2022 patch update brings to devices on this month's Android Security Bulletin. V12.0.18.0.RFQMIXM is rolling out now on MIUI's global channel as an over-the-air (OTA) update. If Xiaomi has not pushed the update to your device, you could try downloading the OTA from Xiaomi Firmware Updater.
