Recently, the tipster Max J. asserted that OnePlus would introduce its first-ever smartwatch in October 2020. Now, the same leaker claims that this launch has been postponed, possibly due to development issues with the new product. The OEM apparently does not have a new date for the event at this time.

OnePlus has reportedly had ambitions to get into the smartwatch game since 2016, a year in which it launched its 3 and 3T flagship phones. However, they have never quite come to fruition, despite having ostensibly bounced design ideas for such a device around for some time. Unfortunately, the OEM may have had to cancel the eventual launch event for this inaugural new product category.

The leaker Max Jambar (now on Voice) had posted hints to the effect that OnePlus would finally bring it its Watch this month (October 2020). However, he now claims that his sources say this event has had to be cancelled, albeit not permanently.

OnePlus will still unveil a smartwatch, just not as soon as thought. Therefore, it may announce a date on which this will happen in the near future. As to why it will not launch in the next 3 days, Max J. postulated that they were due to lingering issues with the potential wearable's software or manufacture.

In the meantime, the tipster has posted an image that may be an official promo for this device, although it seems to spell 'Wotch' rather than Watch.
