Xiaomi is now expanding its Android 11 rollout to include its mid-range devices, with the Mi Note 10 Lite being the latest to receive the update. The update doesn't bring MIUI 12.5 but it's slowly rolling out to the global variant of the phone. The global Redmi Note 8 is getting a spanking new update, too.

Another day, another major update from Xiaomi. The Chinese company has slowly been sending out the Android 11 update to its stable of phones. Surprisingly, the latest one to join the exclusive list of phones running the latest version of Android is the Mi Note 10 Lite.

Yes, the Mi Note 10 Lite is now receiving the Android 11 update globally. The new OTA bears the software designation "MIUI 12.1.1.0 RFNMIXM", denoting that it's an Android R build for the global model of the Mi Note 10 Lite. The update weighs in at 2.3 GB. It's not a MIUI 12.5 build as some would expect, though. At the moment, this OTA is in the beta stable stage, which means it's seeding to random users pending a full rollout.

The Redmi Note 8 is also getting a new update. This update is the January security patch, which is rather impressive seeing as we're just midway through the month. The update bears the build number "MIUI V12.0.3.0.QCOMIXM", showing that it's a MIUI 12 update for the global model of the device. It is, of course, based on Android 10.
