The Mi Mix 2S could be the first Snapdragon 845 device
Xiaomi's Mi 7 has been confirmed to sport a Snapdragon 845 but another device by the company may be the first to bear that honor. Word of an Mi Mix 2S has circulated around the Internet over the past few weeks, and a new rumor in China claims that the device's launch could be imminent, with it being the first device to be powered by Qualcomm's new flagship Snapdragon 845 SoC.
The Mi Mix series was established back in 2016. The line offers a combination of flagship features and performance, impeccable build and design, and global network support. In fact, some would argue that devices in the series are Xiaomi's actual flagships. The Mi Mix 2 was released back in September and the company could be set to offer an update to it in the form of the Mix 2S. This update would be more of a refresh than a full-fledged successor, as its likely to sport the same build and design, but with slightly improved internals.
The Mi 7 is unlikely to be announced at MWC next month for a number of reasons. Reports claim the device will be announced after the event. The Mi Mix 2S, however, could go the opposite way. If claims are to be believed, the device may be announced within the next few weeks, before MWC begins. The Samsung Galaxy S9 duo will be unveiled on February 25 and they will sport the new Snapdragon 845, so the only way the Mi Mix 2S could be the first device with the SoC is if it were launched before then.
Of course, there's nothing concrete about this, so you'd do well to take it with a pinch of salt.
