The Kindle Fire lacks parental controls, criticized

Teaser
The kindle Fire seems to lack parental control or security control of the tablet but still a hit among the shoppers this holiday season

Recently released Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablet is believed to be an inexpensive competitor for the Apple’s iPad. This tablet provides the users to browse and buy digital content, but there’s something very important missing in it and it’s the parental control.

This tablet does not include parental control which could block access to pornography, adult content or allow unattended kids to have the accessibility on their parent’s accounts. These complaints have already started to surface Amazon’s customer forums since the tablet started shipping last month.

According to Apple Insider a parent blogger is fanning the flame by pushing these shortcomings into the spotlight. The parent blogger also said that while unattended children can watch a PG cartoon movie on the Kindle Fire, and also can watch R-rated movies or use the tablet’s Silk web Browser and stumble upon porn.

It seems the Kindle Fire even allows any user with physical access to the device to place purchases on the owner’s account and that even without any password. This also means that if by any chance you lose your Kindle Fire tab, someone can easily buy stuff using your money, unless you set a password to lock the screen when the device is not in use.

But the iPad provides a lot security as well as parental control so it stands with this additional plus point over the Kindle Fire. But the kindle Fire almost seems to be a hot item this holiday shopping season. Although it has shown these flaws but the consumers are still busy in taking the advantage of the $199 tablet.
