The Asus Zenfone 8 Mini draws closer to launch as it appears on certification website
Small phones are very much a dying breed, and premium small phones are even rarer. Thankfully, Asus appears to be set to deliver a small-ish device, in the form of the Asus Zenfone 8 Mini, and more details of the phone have now surfaced once again.
This time out, it seems the Asus Zenfone 8 Mini has made the trip over to the TUV website after certification. The listing doesn’t tell much about the device, other than that it will offer 30 W fast charging. Last year’s Zenfone 7 Pro has the same charging specification, so this is nothing special. In fact, it’s a tad disappointing, since most other OEMs offer wattages north of 60 W these days.
That aside, the Zenfone 8 Mini is expected to sport a 5.9-inch display. That hardly qualifies as “compact” in the true sense of the word but it’s smaller than the average device on the market now. It’ll have to suffice for the target demographic. The phone is also expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 888, although a Snapdragon 870 in an attempt to cut costs wouldn’t be a shocking choice. Lastly, the main camera is said to be Sony’s 64 MP IMX686.
