It is now official that the tablets are eating into the PC market. But a latest research report from Nielsen shows that even other electronics media devices like eReaders and gaming consoles are hit as well.
The report reveals some interesting facts – about 35% of users owning both a tablet and a desktop are using the desktop less and less often. The same goes for 32% of the tablet owners who also own laptops. Not only that, 27% of the eReader owners who also own a tablet says the same, with almost a similar percentage saying they use their media players less now. 20% of gaming console users and 25% of the portable gaming console users say the same.
The graph also differentiates between users who have reduced using their gadget since owning a tablet and those who have stopped altogether. Although the count of the later is quite small right now (mostly in lower single digits), it is a concern nonetheless.
