Suit for Hire has finally stepped out of early access and into its full 1.0 release, bringing with it a polished mix of top-down shooting, third-person gunplay, and hand-to-hand combat. Developed by Godmode Interactive, this stylized indie shooter landed on Steam's "Popular new releases" chart on June 20, 2025, and is already pulling in "Very Positive" reviews from Steam users - most of whom are praising its "John Wick simulator" gameplay and a unique, flexible perspective-switching mechanic.
Originally introduced via early access, Suit for Hire used its pre-release phase to fine-tune its action systems and visuals. The ability to toggle between top-down and third-person view is one of its biggest hooks, and with the 1.0 launch, the studio has refined that experience even more - especially for third-person players. Many early adopters have explicitly mentioned that it now plays like an entirely different game depending on the angle, adding replay value and mechanical depth.
At its core, the game throws players into contract-style missions where the goal is simple: take out targets as stylishly and efficiently as possible. You’ll have pistols, shotguns, and assault rifles at your disposal, plus cinematic finishers and melee takedowns that wouldn’t look out of place in a 90s Hong Kong action flick. The major emphasis is on movement, flow, and chaining attacks in satisfying sequences that reward both precision and improvisation.
The full version ships with dozens of stages, arena levels, and difficulty tiers to test player reflexes. And while players are extremely pleased with the gun-fu action, some reviews do point out occasional bugs and minor controller issues - though nothing game-breaking.
Suit for Hire is currently available for $8.99 (40% off) as part of a launch discount that runs until July 4. You can play it using a mouse/keyboard or an Xbox controller (curr. $139.99 on Amazon). It doesn't really matter if you are in it for the arcade shooter chaos or the third-person martial arts mechanic - this one should be enjoyed by anyone who enjoys violence done right.
