Spark is all geared up to introduce a Linux based tablet as they are planning to put it for pre-orders by next week. This seven inch tablet will be running the Plasma Active UX, an open source OS based on the Linux Kernel, KDE’s multi-platform Plasma environment.
This tablet will provide 800 x 480 pixels of resolution on its display and will run on a 1GHzAMLogic ARM processor along with the Mali-400 GPU. It will have a RAM of 512MB. It will also be sporting a 1.3megapixel camera for video calling. The device seems to have two micro USB ports and also a 3.5mm audio jack.
The device might be available in the market by May of 2012, but initially they will be arriving in Europe and later will start shipping to the US. The device is expected to be priced at €200 ($262).
