The new smartphone will be available globally, as opposed to recently launched Xperia Z4 that can only be bought in Japan.

Sony Xperia Z3+ is a 5.2-inch smartphone with 1920x1080 display based on Sony’s own TRILUMINOS technology. The device is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 graphics. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage space, expandable to 160 GB via micro-SD card slot.

Xperia Z3+, like all other smartphones from the Xperia Z-series, is waterproof and dust-resistant (IP65/68) and features a micro-USB port that does not require a cap to hold off water. Also, the magnetic charging pin has been removed, resulting in an overall more seamless and minimalist design.

The main camera uses a 20.7-megapixel, Exmor RS sensor, while the front camera’s sensor is 5 MP. Naturally, the LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC communication modules are on board. The handset runs Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Sony Xperia Z3+ is only 6.9 mm thin and weighs 144 grams. According to the manufacturer, the 2930 mAh battery will allow up to 17 hours of talk time or up to 91 hours of music playback.

The new smartphone will be available globally in both single and dual-SIM versions, starting in June. Pricing has not been disclosed so far.
