Sony details Xperia X Performance and XA smartphones
Sony introduced its lineup of Xperia X smartphones earlier this year at MWC 2016 and the first few models are finally becoming available. The mainstream 5-inch Xperia XA will officially carry the following specifications:
- 720p HD display
- MediaTek Helio P10 SoC
- 16 GB eMMC w/ MicroSD support up to 200 GB
- 13 MP rear + 8 MP 88-degree wide-angle front cameras
- 2300 mAh battery w/ Quick Charge
- Android 6.0 Marshmallow
- 139 g
- 7.9 mm thickness
The manufacturer is promising 2-day battery life out of the Xperia XA. The smartphone will be available beginning June 17th for around 300 Euros in White, Graphite Black, Lime, Gold, and Rose Gold color options.
Meanwhile, the higher-end 5-inch Xperia X Performance will have the following specifications:
- Triluminous 1080p display
- Snapdragon 820 SoC
- 32 GB eMMC w/ MicroSD support up to 200 GB
- 23 MP rear + 13 MP front cameras
- 2700 mAh battery w/ Quick Charge
- IP65/68 certification for dust and water resistance
- Android 6.0 Marshmallow
- 165 g
- 8.7 mm thick
Compared to the Xperia XA, the Xperia X Performance will have more rounded front edges and corners for a smoother look. The X Performance will also have predictive auto-focus that promises a focusing time of under one second. Availability begins this July through Amazon and Sony Mobile Online for around 700 Euros in the exact same color options as the Xperia XA above.
