Sony Xperia Z4 Compact appearing on various benchmark apps
While Sony has not yet to reveal any information on the inevitable Xperia Z4 Compact, benchmark applications have provided hints on the specifications of the device. According to GFXBench, the Xperia Z4 Compact carries the internal name "E5663" and should be a 4.6-inch smartphone with a 1080p display, 20.7 MP and 13 MP rear and front cameras, MediaTek MT6795 8-core SoC, 3 GB RAM, and 16 GB internal memory. The system will also run on Android 5.0.
Given that the existing Xperia Z3 Compact offers a 4.6-inch display with somewhat similar specifications, the E5663 should be a perfect successor. Exactly when Sony will announce the device or how much it will cost are both currently unknown.
