The official launch of both smartphones is still at least a month away. European users can pre-order now for as low as 600 Euros.

The Sony Xperia X will carry the following specifications in addition to its fingerprint scanner:

  • 5-inch IPS 1080p display
  • Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC
  • Adreno 510 graphics
  • 3 GB RAM
  • 32 GB eMMC w/ MicroSD support up to 200 GB
  • 2620 mAh batter
  • 23 MP rear f/2.0 + 13 MP front f/2.0 cameras

Meanwhile, the more powerful Xperia X Performance will carry mostly the same features as the Xperia X, albeit with the faster Snapdragon 820 SoC and a slightly larger 2700 mAh battery. Both smartphones will otherwise have Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, Miracast, DLNA, and 802.11ac. In typical Xperia fashion, the smartphones will also be IP68-certified for water and dust resistance. The Xperia X Performance, however, will make use of more metal for its chassis.

It was previously reported that the Xperia X Premium would carry a High Dynamic Range (HDR) panel, but Sony has since denied these claims. The technology is still expected to spread in the mobile world despite the fact that such a display panel would be even more taxing on a smartphone battery.

Both the Xperia X and Xperia X Performance will be available late next month or early June for 600 Euros and 700 Euros, respectively.
