Sony has released their 3G Tablet PC Sony P Series yesterday, for the consumers in the UK. They were made available on the Dixons at a price of £500 (about $774).
This Android 3.2 Honeycomb powered tablet has a unique look compared to the design of the other tablets available in the market. It can be folded and while it is folded it looks like a long cylinder with a round back.
This model has two 5.5inch touchscreen capable of providing a resolution up to 1024 x 480 pixels. It runs on a dual-core Tegra 2 processor and 1GB of RAM. For connectivity it has Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. It also has a micro SD card slot. It is also equipped with an SD front & HD rear camera of 5Megapixels.
According to Sony the dual screen provided with this model increases its styling as well as make the tablet easy for reading books as well as playing games. This model is PlayStation certified which also lets you purchase and download a series of classic PlayStation games. While playing games the lower screen acts as the controller and the upper screen acts as the main display.
This Sony P Tablet weighs around 372g (13.1Ounce) and its dimensions measures around 7 x 6.22 x 0.51 inches and it runs on a lithium-ion.
Although it has a lot of new and great features but its price is about a £100 costlier then the iPad 2 which costs around £400 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model. This high price may be a factor for the consumers to decide between iPad 2 and Sony P Tablet. Earlier Honycomb models mostly have a plus point with their price so it will be interesting to see how this tablet deals with the market.
