A seller in India has the yet-to-be-released Redmi Note 10 up for sale. It appears to be the 128GB storage variant of the vanilla Redmi Note 10 and it costs Rs 17,000 (US$234). However, you get only the handset, with the retail box being conspicuously missing.

We've heard about some opportunistic dealers selling the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 for astronomically high prices weeks before its official launch. The upcoming Redmi Note 10 has met a similar fate, as one seller in Tamil Nadu, India has it on sale for Rs 17,000 (US$234). We know for sure this is the real deal because the seller posted a video on Instagram (via @Geekytamizha_ on Twitter) showing the 'About Device' page of the smartphone, which clearly states that it is the vanilla Redmi Note 10.

The Redmi Note 10 hands-on video also sheds light on several Redmi Note 10 design elements, such as its camera layout, side-mounted fingerprint scanner and hole-punch selfie camera. This particular Redmi Note 10 variant appears to have 128GB of internal storage, likely coupled with 6GB of RAM. It's running Android 11 with MIUI 12.0 on top.

It is also worth noting that the Redmi Note 10 units in question are being sold without a retail box, so they may have been acquired through some unscrupulous means. With the official Redmi Note 10 launch date set for March 4th, one is better off waiting a bit longer for the real thing instead of a mystery device bereft of any warranty or after-sales support.
