Sharp unveils Aquos Pad SH-05G tablet with Snapdragon 810
Sharp has just unveiled its new tablet, Aquos Pad SH-05G. It’s the second tablet on the market powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. At 0.46 lbs, it is also one of the lightest 7-inch tablets available.
Apart from its unusally low weight and top-of-the-line processor, Sharp Aquos SH-05G’s specification sheet looks quite interesting. The device comes with Sharp’s IGZO display running at 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution. The four-core, 2.0 GHz Snapdragon 810 is accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of on-board storage space, (expandable by means of micro-SD card reader). Taking the low weight into consideration, battery capacity is surprisingly standard. At 3900 mAh, it is only slightly smaller than that of, e.g. LG G Pad 7.0 (4000 mAh).
SH-05G’s physical measurements are: 174 x 105 x 8 mm. Sharp’s tendency of reducing display bezels to a minimum is also present here, as the tablet boasts one of the highests screen-to-body ratios on the market. The new tablet is outfitted with a rather average, 8 MP primary camera and a 2.1 MP front one.
Sharp Aquos Pad SH-05G will run Android 5.0 and is scheduled for a July launch date. It will be available in Japan first, via Docomo. No pricing information has been released yet.
