SanDisk announces new wireless flash drive

Teaser
The company has expanded its wireless storage offerings with the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick.

As the computing industry moves towards cloud storage, mobility, and fewer ports, SanDisk has chosen to expand its line of wireless storage solutions. To this effect, the company has developed the new Connect Wireless Stick with higher capacity, a new app for sharing files, and a more compact design.

SanDisk's wireless storage device allows users to share files, pictures, and movies with multiple computers or smartphones. Although the Wireless Connect needs to be charged for on-the-go usage, a full charge can support a single stream of music or movies for nearly 5 hours. A nice feature of SanDisk's new drive is an automatic backup option for photos and videos taken on smartphones. These can then be shared with any wifi-enabled device with the iOS and Android app created specially for the SanDisk Wireless Connect Stick.

More storage capacity sizes are available, ranging from 16GB to an impressive 128GB, and the price of these ranges from $30 to $100. SanDisk is likely making a push towards more wireless storage options with releases like the latest MacBook, a laptop notorious for its lack of ports. As other manufacturers follow suit to create slimmer machines, wireless storage alternatives could become quite popular.
