We have seen, used and loved the Samsung Chromebooks in the past. Now the Korean electronics giant has unveiled another brand-new Series 5 Wi-Fi only variant just ahead of the holiday season. The Chromebook, carrying model no. XE500C21-A04US, sports an ultraportable size 12.1-inch 16:10 screen with Samsung’s Superbright technology that promises 36% more brightness than your ordinary LCD screen. It is powered by an Intel Dual-core processor, apart from a battery that claims 6 hours of computing on a single charge.

Samsung throws in a Webcam, built-in digital microphone and stereo speakers, two USB 2.0 ports and SD card slot. All these in a body that measures only 0.79-inch in thickness.

The body has matte finish to it that will resist unwanted fingerprints. Also the keyboard is stretched on both sides to make room between the keys for comfortable typing. There is ample space below the keyboard for comfortably resting your palm and operating the full size trackpad.

The new Chromebook is available only in Piano Black right now, and costs $349. In fact if you are planning to be in New York shortly or are already there, you can test drive it at the Samsung Experience at Columbus Circle – or even borrow it for seven days to play around in leisure.
