Samsung teases Galaxy A3 and A5 2017 launch
The mainstream Galaxy A series could get its first waterproof smartphone in less than a month.

The mid-range Galaxy A series will be renewed for the upcoming year according to a Twitter post from Samsung Malaysia. While numerous leaks have already unveiled that the mainstream Galaxy A family will continue with a potential January 2017 launch window, the official Samsung teaser and press images only add credit to the rumors. Accordingly, we can expect next year's Galaxy A3 and A5 smartphones to come in "Black Sky", "Gold Sand", "Blue Coral", and "Peach Cloud" colors. Prices are not yet known, though existing reports are pointing to high starting prices of 379 Euros and 479 Euros for the A3 and A5, respectively.

The design of these new smartphones appear to closely mimic that of the flagship Galaxy S7. It's not stated explicitly, but we suspect that they will also be water resistant as hinted by the water droplets on teaser.

The rumored specifications are as listed below with the expected dual-SIM capabilities on each. See our existing review on the 2016 Galaxy A3 and A5 for more details on the series.
