Samsung has started rolling out new updates to the Galaxy S10 series, including the Galaxy S10e. The new round of updates not only brings the Galaxy S10 series onto the May 2021 security patch, but also improves camera performance.

Samsung is now rolling out new updates to the Galaxy S10 series. According to SamMobile, Samsung has issued new updates to the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10 Plus. We would expect the Galaxy S10 Lite to receive the same update, but Samsung's documentation suggests that this is not the case, currently. The corresponding page for the Galaxy S10 Plus confirms that Samsung has changed or addressed the following with this month's update:

  • The performance of Camera has been improved
  • Enhanced Quick Share
  • Improve file sharing between Galaxy devices using Quick Share.
  • The security of your device has been improved

Specifically, Samsung has upgraded the Galaxy S10 series to the 2021-05-01 security patch, which you can read more about in this month's Android Security Bulletin. However, Samsung has not included Dual Recording in this month's update, a feature that it has enabled on the Z Fold2 and the Galaxy S20/Note 20 series.

Hence, it is unclear how Samsung has improved camera performance on the Galaxy S10 series. Regardless, the new update should arrive as an over-the-air (OTA) download, if it has not already.
