Samsung's Flip Cover to come with an e-ink display
Next to its foldable devices, Samsung seems to be working on a new Flip Cover. As revealed by a patent recently filed in Korea, Samsung plans to add an e-ink display to the next-gen cover for its flagships.
A recently discovered patent by Samsung describes what appears to be the next-gen Flip Cover. The most visible change is the introduction of an e-ink display, thus allowing the user to get more information without having to open the cover.
The Flip Cover currently available on the market comes with a few transparent cutout slots for spotting notifications displayed by the handset inside. The patent that was filed at the Korean Intellectual Property Office shows a Flip Cover with a larger window and an e-ink screen, but there are no other details to talk about at this stage.
Considering the fact that this Flip Cover does not come with any special hardware parts, it would not be a surprise to see it surface in about a month, next to the Galaxy S8 flagship at MWC 2017 in Barcelona. We will keep an eye on this story and let you know as soon as we find out anything new, so stay tuned.

In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I've been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
