CES 2012 | Samsung reveals Series 7 Gamer notebook

Teaser
The 17.3-inch desktop replacement will now be making its way across the Atlantic to U.S. customers by this April

Unlike a number of other manufacturers such as Dell, Samsung has kept itself low in terms of offering high-end notebooks for gamers. We recently reviewed the Series 7 Gamer notebook over at Europe and gave it high marks, but now it seems that the series is finally coming over to the states.

Unveiled at CES this year, the Series 7 Gamer on display was a bright eye-catching orange (alongside a red model) and definitely stood out. This 17-inch notebook appears to be including most if not all of the features that are in the European model, such as a subwoofer, power knobs, backlit keyboard, JBL speakers and a 1080p display. Users will also get Blu-ray, 3D over HDMI and a 2TB of storage as standard.

According to PCMag, only one model will be offered at launch, likely with a Core i7 Sandy Bridge CPU and a high-end Radeon HD 6970M GPU. Samsung, however, may be pondering about releasing additional models equipped with Ivy Bridge and an even more powerful GeForce GTX 600M series GPU when they become available.

The Series 7 Gamer is expected to land this April at the earliest starting for $1799. In the meantime, check out our exclusive in-depth review of the similar European model here.
