Samsung may not update design for Galaxy S7

Recently, a source supposedly revealed to The Korea Times that Samsung may not update the design of its flagship smartphones and instead focus on improving the internals and specs. The source said that the next smartphone to release will have improvements to the camera, overall performance, and other areas.

Some are speculating that the company is aiming to save money by keeping design changes minimal, and funneling the capital straight into internal upgrades and more impressive specs. Samsung has already hinted that the processor for the next Galaxy device will be the Exynos 8 in order to achieve better performance from the handset. Though this move may in fact pay off, it is important to remember when HTC made minimal changes to its M8 design and had a hard time making a strong value proposition for those looking to upgrade to the latest model.

Samsung has always aimed to have the highest quality components and premium internals in its flagship smartphones, and the company may be using this competitive advantage to set itself apart from the pack of high-end offerings.
