Samsung hints at Gear S2 smartwatch

Samsung has been actively advertising its new Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 smartphones ever since their reveal at the Unpacked event in New York. One advertisement, however, appears to be showing a glimpse of what could be the next Gear S2 smartwatch. The fashionable Lookbook advertisement style as seen in our sources below briefly shows the newer and rounder smartwatch.

Details and specifications of of the Galaxy S Gear successor has yet to be officially revealed. Rumors point to an official announcement at IFA this year in Berlin. The current Gear smartwatch (M-R750) sports an integrated SIM slot for making calls directly from your wrist a la the LG Watch Urbane.

The Gear also uses a square 2-inch Super AMOLED display, so the move to a circular one for the potential Gear S2 could prove intriguing. This would contrast nicely with the Watch Urbane and G Watch R from LG. The Gear S2 may even run Samsung's Tizen OS instead of Android.
